Normally I'm not one for memes or silly little online quizzes that tell me who I am or how I'm supposed to feel about something. But this one has been making the rounds everywhere, and I took it out of boredom. The results seem incredibly fitting, given how flat-out shocked (and sometimes even angry) people have been getting because I'm not nervous/stressed/super duper excited/etc about my upcoming wedding. Seriously, a friend of his family even suggested that perhaps I don't love him, since I denied being remotely nervous or stressed in the least. I just don't GET stressed or nervous anymore. I've learned that neither has ever helped in any situation, and I've never ever once in my life NOT accomplished things in time, so why should this time be any different? I'm confident in my abilities to get things done, and if I don't get nervous of thesis committee meetings or big talks and presentations, I'm certainly not going to get nervous about getting married. Hell, we've been dating for 5.5 years, engaged for 14 months, and living together for 11 months; it's not like that much is going to really change aside from getting a little piece of paper that says it's acceptable that we are living together.
Maybe, I'm just calm and cool as a cucumber because I'm so "well-adjusted." I bet all these accusers who are angry that I'm not nervous would all score really high in the anxiety/neurotic department. No need to stress on my behalf.
Your Score: Well-Adjusted
You scored 39 anxiety, 18 awkwardness, and 18 neuroticism!
You scored low in all categories--so there's no need to worry! Not that you were worrying, anyway. You are so Well-Adjusted that I almost feel the need to worry for you.
Your low anxiety score implies that you are able to relax, can enjoy the here and now, and have a healthy amount of self-confidence.
Your low awkwardness score implies that you are socially capable, are personable and charming, and probably go to parties and have fun.
Your low neuroticism score implies that you don't exhibit subtle neurotic behaviors--your nails are probably an acceptable length, your pencils aren't covered with bite marks, and your bookcase isn't arranged alphabetically by genre. Congrats!

ReplyDeleteThat pretty much describes what happened with me and my husband too. After the wedding, people kept asking me if I felt different. Um, no....
I always find it odd that married-to-bes are expected to be nervous-- and I AM one of those neurotic people! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly how the year leading up to my wedding went for me. I was just not into it. And yeah, no one really likes it when you answer the question "OMG! Aren't you excited?" with a shrug. We got married after 11 years and the main reason was because we owned so much stuff together, that we wanted the other person to be protected if something horrible happened. In our minds the commitment was there long before that silly legal document.
